Production 2015

Description: Every Friday we do things for production which is wearable arts. My group I am in is elements with Troy and my element is fire. Our overall theme for production is life. There is fire, water, nature and wind. Production is happening in Week 10 this term.


Big idea. I think I did good at my helmet and my body plate but it toke my a wile to make both of them.

Description:in writing we have been doing a piece of writing I choose to do a poem about King Kong.

King Kong kills
rips shreds and tears mouths
rips mouths apart viciously
dramatically breaks rocks
climbs big buildings madly
King Kong Quickly runs away
King Kong lives in the evil jungle  
The jungle has giant spiders and cockroaches.

Big idea: we have been learning how to write a poem a interview and something else. I choose a poem because I like poems.

Pad Tamariki

Description: in school we have been doing kappa Hakka every Monday after lunch. 


At Pae Tamariki, I felt...  I felt nervous because I had to preform to a lot of people.

I felt most proud of… I am most proud of myself because i did preform in a lot of people 

I found….challenging because… I found challenging the pukana because the pukana is hard

I managed this challenge by…. I managed this challenge by trying the pukana at home.

At Kapa Haka, I next want to... I want to learn more than everyone in kappa Hakka.

Big idea: we have been learning in kappa Hakka how to pukana and we have a talk after we do the all of the songs.

Math with Rebecca

Description: In math we have been learning to use cubes beens happy-hundreds bored. We are learning to do division and times tables

Here is the question

we have been learning in maths how to get better at time table and division with Rebecca. I worked this question out by splitting the 31 into 30 and 1. Then I divided 30 by 5 and I had 1 remainder.

Evaluation: I think I can get better at doing my time tables and my division facts.

My art

Description: every Thursday we do drama or pop art I choose pop art. pop art is a type of art. It  is based onpopular culture and using contrasting colours. Pop art was first done in the 1950's and it is vivid and eye catching. Artists are any Warhol and a piece of art is Campbell's soup.

Big idea: I choose to do an iPod because I like playing on mine at home and listening to music. I used a ruler to do the lines and then I made the apple but I first I painted it after I did the pencil. I used bright colours and contrasting colours.

Feedback feedforward i like the colours on your art and different kind of paint maybe you should add more stuff to it to make it look like a iPod.kiana

Evaluation I think I did really well because I did a good job on the first Apple I did. On the other ones it was really hard to do it because I couldn't do it as well as the first one.

Description: in reading I have been learning about perfect picture. We have to read this tic tac toe how to do what we want to do I picked perfect picture because we have to do 20 questions about a ball house.

Description: we have been writing a story about a robot and a scientist. 

Ones a opon time there was a big red robot. There was also a scientist called bobby. He went in a portal that leads to a robot town. That robot town had the big red robot and that scientist wanted the robot to come back to the house with him. Then the robot and bobby the scientist made the robot go in his garage. The scientist trains the robot to be a good robot to help people in the world. He was working on a poisoin that made the robot small. all night for two weeks i finally made it the cemicle now I can throw this at the robot then he will be small for ever to help people. But one thing happens to the cemicle x the robot Bracked the cemicle x his arm got small but his hole body didn't become smaller. He had a small arm and a big body. That is so weird how did it happen to the robot. 

Big idea: my story is goodit will blow you mind.

Feedforward:  fix your mistakes that you made

Evaluation: I think I can get my writing I bit slow on paper and write slow on my iPad because I will mess up.

Kapahaka Reflection Term 2 2015

At kapahaka I enjoy... Doing the poukana because we do the poukana for a reisen.

I am most proud of… I am proud of my leadership and showing the little kids how to do the poukana.

I find….challenging because… to do the actions of the Hakka because they are a bit hard to do them so I look at the person next to me.

I am managing this challenge by…. Looking forward and trying to not get distracted by other people.

A personal goal for me is… is to do the Hakka right because I don't get it right enough to make the Hakka right.

Our school wide focus this term has been around showing excellence. I show this at kapahaka by... Showing excellence and showing the kids to do the Hakka so they can be in the competition at the regent

Description: we have been learning about how to write two amounts that have sums more or less or a difference between and more.

Have a sum more than $550
The tent and the head gear make over 550 dollars.

Have a sum less than $250
The sihoes and the bag are less than 250 dollars

Have a difference between $40 and $60
The two balls make $53 I know that it is $53 because 30+20=50 2+1=3

Have a difference more than $120
The shirt and the $21 ball is $130 because $110+20=$130+9+1=10=140

Big idea: my strategy I used was showing the answer by pluses.

Feedback: I liked the way that showed the question's.

Feedforward: I think you need to work on your description.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae


This is my marae goals i picked theses because they where a good goal to choose and because I also actively did them

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? I achieve my goals because I was listening to the teachers and I stayed away from home for one night and day.

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why? I was most proud of myself because I was listening to the thechers.

3.  What challenged you the most and why? The photographing was hard because I had to ask for help.

Story telling

Purpose: create a story to share orally
Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.

Evaluation: I should get everyone to join in with my actions.
I should also make my story longer and louder voice.

Feedback: I think that you did a great work at explaining the story talking about how the birds got there colour
Feedforwd: I think next you should make it longer and more actions

ability to act

Description:  We have been making videos to show the ability to act and be self-managing for the way we act. My group was me, Hannah Bridget and Corton. We made it about someone getting stuck on cycle mountain and someone else trying to help her.  

Big Idea: Criteria: (Content)Video - 30 seconds long, time is limited.Scenario - Show someone being stuck and not using the ability to act.Clear Message - Short sharp clip. Can the watcher get the point of your video?Unique - Coming up with something funny that gets a laugh from others.Time Passing - Do you need to show time passing in your clip to emphasise your message.

Criteria: (Movie)Light - Make sure the sun isn’t creating a hard to see clip.Voice Volume - Needs to be louder than other background volume eg Noise, Kids.Frame - What’s in the frame to make your message obvious.Steady Hands - Make sure the camera is still.

Individual Clips - Don’t do one continuous shot of 30 seconds. Make a range of short clips and join together.

i thought that my movie was a good movie me Corton Bridget and Hannah did a good movie and a funny movie.

Maths 2015

in maths we are doing stage 4,5 and 6 in maths and i still need a little more practice on test 6 but here are my scores

Big idea: I am stage 6 in maths we are learning to get better soon so we are all stage 7 of maths. As we learn to get better at maths in are class we will be the best math people
