learning to learn

WALT: Learning to Learn
Success Criteria:    
  • know what I am learning to do
  • I know what I need to to to get better
  • I plan activities that are going to help my learning
  • I follow my plan
  • use my learning time wisely (complete my activities on time)
We are on the path to becoming self directed learners in Adventure 9. This means we are beginning to make choices that help us grow as learners. We know what we are learning and what we need to do to get better.
We plan our week choosing activities that are going to help us reach our goals. We plan all the must do’s and then add the can do’s.

Memphis, you can plan you week successfully but you need to remember to plan in the must dos first and then add the can dos. You need to make sure you follow your plan always, not just when it has your favourite activities on it. You are a very clever young man and I would love to see you take off like a rocket when you use your learning time wisely!

How do you think our agreement is going to help your learning this year?
it will help me with my learning because it has good stuff in it like how we should treat people like we want to be treated. This will make a great happy class.

Smart Goals

Writing Week 3 Term 1

Purpose:     To set a learning goal for school (maths, reading and writing) and

WALT:     Write set SMART goals (self reflection)

S.M.A.R.T. means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time sensitive.
Specific: Don’t be vague. What exactly do you want?
Measurable: Quantify your goal. How will you know if you’ve achieved it or not?
Attainable: Be honest with yourself about what you can reasonably achieve
Realistic: It’s got to be doable, real and practical.
Time: Associate a time frame with each goal. When should you complete the goal?

My Writing Goal: is to proof read my writing and check the spelling
My Reading Goal:is to look for key ideas so i can summarise
My Maths Goal: is to split numbers to help me solve problems
